ideaShell 2.0 is here.

From day one, we were never trying to build just a note app.

But for a long time, “notes” were the most understandable and most buildable shape that memory could take. Given what AI could do back then, that is the form we had to start with.

Today, progress in large models finally lets us ship the ideaShell we meant to build all along:

• Global memory: it understands you, remembers you, and knows you better the more you use it

It is no longer a capture tool. It is an AI thinking partner that is genuinely yours.

• Switch between AI models to suit the task.
• A new Playbook, to help you find more ways to use it.
• New content-selection and permission prompts, so it is clearer what is happening.

Better recording

• Live captions while you record — see it as you say it.
• Merge multiple recordings for easier organising and review.
• A smoother recording interface.

The web app is live

• Built for desktop work, with more room and a faster way to create.

More changes

• Import Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HTML and Markdown files and save them as notes.
• Today’s to-dos and schedule now appear on the home screen.
• Voice notes now carry a source label, so you can see where content came from.
• Improved the speaker-related screens and interactions.
• Improved sharing and viewing of note links.
• Polished a number of details and fixed known issues for better stability.
